Entry portal trough the intestinal barrier

Our technology enables controlled transfer of biological compounds through the intestinal (mucosal) barrier.

Anti-APN antibodies are used as a carrier for more efficient delivery of the compounds through the intestinal epithelial barrier.

Via selective transcytosis of said compounds through the intestinal barrier various functions at the level of the intestinal epithelium and beyond can be modulated.

As an example antigens, after oral delivery, can thus be efficiently presented to the gut associated lymphoid tissue (GALT) leading to a protective mucosal immune response.

Alternatively, drugs or drug-containing (nano-)particles can be transferred and delivered across the intestinal barrier.
